IHNA has campuses across major Australian cities, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. To further our mission, we have expanded internationally with a state-of-the-art delivery location in Kochi, Kerala, India.
The IHNA India (Kochi) campus offers AQF-level Australian qualifications, providing students in India access to the same world-class education as their Australian peers.
The healthcare industry relies on the support of pathology collectors in order to test and respond to individual health concerns.
The Certificate III in Pathology Collection is a professional accreditation that focuses on the factual, technical, and procedural knowledge of the concepts required to undertake personal visits to collect specimens from patients at home or at institutions.
Because this work requires discretion and judgement, our approach to teaching will prepare you to confidently communicate and provide customer service and technical skills. Your learning will blend theoretical with relevant practical knowledge so that you’re ready to enter the healthcare industry.
To achieve this course, the student must have completed at least 35 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment requirements of the unit of competency.

upon completing all theory assessments including simulation-based assessments (SBA).
During the PEP, students will apply the required essential knowledge and skills to
demonstrate competency for each unit of this qualification.
Each student will work in pairs with a buddy staff member under the supervision of
the workplace supervisor at the PEP facility.
An IHNA trainer and assessor will monitor the student’s progress during the PEP. All
PEPs are arranged by IHNA. Students may arrange PEP by themselves if preferred, as
agreed with and in consultation with, the course coordinator.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

The initial 5 units, including KBA and TA, are delivered online, followed by 9 units of theoretical study online, and the SBA is then carried out in a simulated environment, as specified in the training package. This means that skills must be exhibited in a workplace setting, supplemented by simulations and scenarios where the complete range of circumstances and situations may not have been provided in the actual workplace.
The teachers and students.
Yes, we have recorded sessions, which are available on the Microsoft Teams page, where our students take classes online. Full fees paying students can fast track the course, while those students availing government funding must meet all the requirements given by the relevant funding bodies.Full-fee paying students can see recordings and complete their Knowledge Based Assessments and Theory assessments faster, but the Simulation Based Assessment requires an educator, so we don’t do these for one student at a time, SBA’s are re done in group of 5 to 8 students so that all students in the group can learn together by supporting each other with the support of an educator.
There are no theory lectures, but we do go through theory assessments as well as SBA; most of our SBAs are only about 2 hours long, so there is no need for a break
Once course is completed, IHNA organise placement and students go for 1 week of clinical placements.
Assessments are marked daily, by IHNA trainers and educators. This will help students to fast track the course.
